Richard Belcher, Investigative Reporter, published a story on WSB News about the Dekalb County Board of Ethics. Belcher says the Public Works department has a recent investigation into alleged misconduct and the County has frozen a $7 million watershed construction contract citing sloppy work and questionable procurement practices.

John Ernst, Duluth Attorney and Board Member, said that the volunteer, unpaid Board doesn’t have the expertise to investigate these claims. The Budget and Finance Committee is considering additional appropriations for the Board for the remainder of the year.
